Cheektowaga man admits to taking 50k from Catholic school

SOUTH BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A Cheektowaga man could spend up to a 12 months in jail after he admits he embezzled $50,000 from a South Buffalo faculty.

57-12 months-historical Dennis Potozniak pleaded responsible in State Supreme court to embezzlement expenses that stem from when he changed into an administrator at Notre Dame Academy in South Buffalo.

Prosecutors say Potozniak proficient himself hundreds of greenbacks while working as a enterprise Administrator on the faculty. He declared himself the winner of varied school cash sweepstakes between 2014 and 2017, and wrote dozens of exams to himself, depositing the money in his very own bank account.

Erie County District legal professional John Flynn says the investigation all started when the Buffalo Catholic Diocese did an audit of the faculty, and followed the paper path.

When sentenced in February, Potozniak could spend up to a year in penal complex.
